Welcome to Clean Space Storage!
Just another storage facility to some but for our family it is a life’s culmination of work. It has been a road full of ups and downs that spans over 40 years. Family business is hard. It isn’t always sunshine and rainbows with easy sailing but it is worth every single second.
When my father started his construction business in the late 70’s early 80’s, it was a one man show. He worked from home out of a bedroom converted to an office, we called it the Green Room. Green Wallpaper EVERYWHERE 😊 Very early on he started building storage facilities and quickly became one of the most established and recognized self storage builders in Oklahoma. He then went on to start building in Texas and across the United States. He wanted to build his own facility but he was so busy building for other people that it didn’t happen. In 1997 he had a heart attack and open-heart surgery. No one knew and he wanted to keep it that way. He was back working 2 days after the surgery. It was still a one man show until early 1999, when I moved home from one of my failed attempts at leaving my hometown behind. He taught me the accounting program and attempted to teach me some basic construction things and off he went. I ran the office while he was going from job to job. He hired an in-house draftsman and business was growing. My youngest brother, still in high school, had worked in the business since he was a kid during the summers and time off from school, but it would still be a full year before he would join the business full time. In 2001 it was time for me to take some time off to chase my own dreams. During my time away the business continued to grow. A new set of faces came on board and by the time I returned in early 2008, a new office was being built. Not just any office but a beautiful HUGE office. My father, who started in an 8’x12’ room was now the proud owner his own building with enough room to grow. Things were really good.
I’m going to skip a few years and medical procedures (dad has a new heart valve “oink”) to bring us to today. We continue to build self-storage facilities across the United States. Currently we are building in 4 states and preparing for another Spring trade show in Vegas. Clean Space Storage is a little of my brother, dad and myself. We argued over some of the smallest of details until I won 😉 We are proud of what we have built. Most importantly, my brother and I are proud of the perseverance of our father. He worked hard to build something that allows us to provide for our families. 40+ years of business means he did something not only right but amazing.
